Harper's Bazaar France
Faire Son Cinéma

May 2026
Harper’s Bazaar France captures the intersection of high fashion and vintage silver-screen allure in their latest project, Faire Son Cinéma. This luxury fashion editorial leans into a sophisticated aesthetic that channels the golden era of film through a contemporary, high-fashion lens. Photographer Ferry van der Nat masterfully utilizes studio strobe and natural light to emphasize texture, from the intricate, light-catching metallic sequins of the model’s top to the tactile weight of the feather coat. Creative Director Franck Durand orchestrates this visual narrative, where the focus remains strictly on the intensity of the subject’s gaze and the precision of the styling. The portrait series, curated by fashion editor and stylist Isaac Perez Solano, features model Poppy Miles, whose look is defined by striking red lipstick and heavy, graphic eyeliner applied by makeup artist Lisa Michalik. Josephine Brignon’s sharp hair styling complements the editorial minimalism, while manicurist Jessica Trochut adds a subtle layer of refinement to the compositions. The project feels both timeless and urgent, utilizing an illustrative gold-motif backdrop to ground the fashion in a sense of place. Through this evocative exploration of character and couture, the team crafts a cinematic experience that transforms the standard portrait into a compelling study of luxury, light, and the enduring power of classic, high-contrast imagery in modern editorial photography.
