The Last Daffodil is an editorial project for Fucking Young, featuring a series of carefully composed still lifes and portraits. Photographer Jose Martínez employs a mix of monochrome aesthetics and abstract lighting to explore themes of texture and form. The work leans into a minimalist editorial style, utilising soft lighting and chiaroscuro techniques to heighten the visual depth of each frame. Spanning diverse visual textures, the collection moves from clean, studio-lit accessory studies to dreamlike, impressionistic floral arrangements. The project maintains a cohesive focus on graphic silhouettes and high-contrast composition, with various frames utilising analogue-inspired aesthetics to ground the editorial series.
