Elbazin The Atelier 2024

About

The Atelier is a high-fashion editorial campaign for Elbazin that explores the sculptural possibilities of evening wear within a minimalist studio environment. Through a blend of monochrome and selective color imagery, the project balances the rigid architecture of wooden props against the fluid, layered silhouettes of tulle, lace, and structured leather. Photographer Simon Upton utilizes high-contrast lighting and analogue film techniques to emphasize the intricate textures of the garments. The project leans into a clean, backstage fitting aesthetic, with art direction that highlights the interplay between delicate drapery and sharp, graphic accessories. Styling by Emma Cotterill anchors the series, supported by hair styling from Koh and makeup by Yuka Matsui. The editorial is presented through a mix of group compositions and diptych portraits, focusing on form and tonal range.
