Crosscurrent’s fashion editorial project, The Approach, features a series of portraits that lean into a minimalist, graphic aesthetic. The collection utilizes a blend of studio and outdoor photography, juxtaposing vibrant pink seamless backdrops with organic, uncultivated environments and dense foliage. Photographer Phil Engelhardt captures the collection with a focus on clean lines and texture, supported by creative direction from Clarke Rudick. The fashion editorial showcases structured, oversized silhouettes and monochromatic ensembles, with styling by Xenia May Settel. The series incorporates elements of analogue film and natural light to create a cohesive, desaturated atmosphere across both studio and outdoor portraiture.
