Hypnos, the latest editorial series for Contributor Magazine, stands as a masterclass in avant-garde portraiture and high-fashion storytelling. Under the creative vision of photographer Alessandro Esposito, the project explores the interplay between human geometry and experimental beauty. The imagery leans into a sophisticated, minimalist aesthetic, frequently utilizing low-key chiaroscuro lighting to carve out dramatic silhouettes against dark, neutral backgrounds. Fashion editor and stylist Ellen Mirck curate a visual language defined by structured corsetry and intricate sculptural accessories, while the beauty direction—realized through the work of makeup artist Simone Gammino and hair stylist Maurizio Caruso Morreale—transforms the human face into a canvas. From thick, graphic applications of metallic silver paint and saturated violet pigments to the delicate contrast of stark white mascara against deep skin tones, each portrait functions as an intimate study in texture and color.
