CJ Models
Brand Identity

Oct 2018
The new brand identity for CJ Models signals a refined pivot within the luxury fashion houses and modeling industry, favoring a stripped-back aesthetic that prioritizes visual clarity over clutter. Executed with precision by the design team at Studio Picnic, the identity leans into editorial minimalism, utilizing a stark black-and-white color palette and disciplined sans-serif typography to anchor the agency’s market position. By pairing clean, corporate-focused layouts with high-contrast imagery, the branding bridges the gap between commercial utility and high-fashion sensibility. The project encompasses a comprehensive suite of assets, from structured comp cards featuring models like Maria and Cheyenne to textured stationery that plays with light and shadow against raw, industrial surfaces like grey concrete. The design language is consistent across every touchpoint, whether through the soft-focus editorial portraits captured in natural light or the symmetrical, balanced business cards that highlight the agency’s professional rigor. Rather than relying on ornate details, the identity centers on a sophisticated use of negative space and crisp typography, successfully positioning CJ Models as a premium partner in a competitive global landscape. This work is a masterclass in modern corporate branding, stripping away the excess to leave behind a visual identity that is both functionally clear and undeniably stylish.
