CANAL+: The Trailer
Dec 2024
CANAL+ revisits its origins in The Trailer, a cinematic project that dramatizes the foundational moments of the subscription network. Produced by DIVISION with creative agency BETC Paris, the narrative traverses tense dialogue sequences across 1980s boardrooms and period-accurate French office settings. The execution leans into a cinematic aesthetic, utilizing grainy textures and 1970s-inspired art direction to evoke the era of the network's launch. The film features meticulous period tailoring and dramatic framing to ground the historical account of the channel's development and the introduction of the iconic decoder box. Sound design by GUM complements the visual tension, anchoring the live-action technique.
