Camilla and Marc
Fall 2023 Ad Campaign

Jul 2023
For their Fall 2023 campaign, luxury fashion house Camilla and Marc leans into a stark juxtaposition between architectural precision and the untamed Australian landscape. Captured by photographer Zac Bayly at Sydney’s Maroubra beach, the campaign traverses the duality of day and night, utilizing high-contrast flash techniques for nocturnal shots while embracing the soft, ambient glow of natural light during the golden hour. Under the creative direction of Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman, the visual narrative functions as a cinematic exploration of texture and silhouette. Models like Emma Balfour are placed against weathered, rugged coastal outcrops, creating an intentional friction between the clean, minimalist lines of the collection’s tailoring—ranging from sharp double-breasted suits to fluid satin tunics—and the organic, elemental rock formations of the shoreline. Stylist Vanessa Coyle emphasizes this tension by pairing structured high-neck tops and oversized blazers with unexpected accents, such as faux-fur trimmed slides, reinforcing an aesthetic that feels both grounded and elevated. With expert hair by Joel Forman and polished makeup by Anne Timper, the imagery captures a mood that is at once moody and luminous. This editorial project succeeds in framing the brand's seasonal offering not just as clothing, but as a deliberate response to the environment, resulting in a cohesive, high-impact commercial statement that lingers in the memory long after the initial glance.
