Bottega Veneta
Winter 2023 Ad Campaign

Aug 2023
For the Winter 2023 collection, Bottega Veneta delivers an evocative ad campaign that masterfully balances high-fashion rigor with an approachable, lived-in sensibility. Under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, the project leans into a series of stark, architectural environments—ranging from concrete recesses and wood-paneled corridors to weathered metallic backdrops—that serve as a neutral canvas for the collection’s intricate material play. Captured through the lenses of photographers Malick Bodian, Louise and Maria Thornfeldt, and Sander Muylaert, the imagery excels in editorial minimalism, frequently utilizing natural light to delineate the tactile depth of the brand’s signature Intrecciato woven leather and layered, textile-rich ensembles. The casting, overseen by Anita Bitton and Finlay Macaulay, features a diverse ensemble of models including Mariacarla Boscono and Liu Wen, whose composed, portrait-style presence grounds the surreal fringe and sculptural silhouettes. With hair by Duffy and makeup by Hiromi Ueda, the campaign reads as an exploration of quiet luxury, where the focus remains steadfastly on the interplay between the subjects and their industrial, sometimes brutalist surroundings. By eschewing over-the-top artifice, this commercial project reinforces a sophisticated, authentic aesthetic that aligns perfectly with the brand's heritage, ultimately positioning the seasonal offering as both wearable art and an elevated, aspirational standard for modern global fashion.
