About

S/25 serves as an editorial campaign for the Australian Ballet, capturing the athleticism and precision of the company’s principal dancers. Under the creative direction of Emma Wagstaff, the project leans into a refined, minimalist aesthetic, utilizing high-contrast studio portraiture to emphasize the physicality of performance. The visual execution relies on directional lighting to sculpt form and texture, ranging from moody, chiaroscuro-inspired shots to clean, high-key imagery. The campaign features dancers including Benedicte Bemet, Ako Kondo, and Sharni Spencer, each framed in dynamic, athletic movement or composed, graceful repose. The styling by Vivien Vittadello focuses on fluid fabrics and structured dancewear that accentuate the performers' silhouettes, while hair and make-up by Blanka Dudas maintain a polished, uniform look throughout. Shot by photographer Pierre Toussaint, the series balances technical control with expressive spontaneity.
