August Barron
ALL-IN N°9 - Viktor & Rolf

Jun 2026
August Barron and Viktor & Rolf collide in this captivating fashion campaign, a high-concept exploration of avant-garde silhouettes and sculptural textiles. The collection serves as a playground for surrealist expression, where garments transcend traditional tailoring to become monolithic, architectural forms—think duvet-inspired coats, voluminous tulle skirts, and bed-pillow structures. Photographer Sharna Osborne expertly navigates this tension between the refined and the disruptive, utilizing a blend of sharp studio strobe lighting and grainy, nostalgic VHS lo-fi aesthetics. This editorial work feels both clinical and dreamlike, grounding extreme, oversized silhouettes in a minimalist environment that emphasizes the juxtaposition of soft fabrics against industrial props and silver chain-link masks. With creative styling by Danny Reed, the project leans into a conceptual, high-fashion vocabulary that challenges the viewer to reconsider the body in space, whether through the anonymity of a pillow-obscured head or the rhythmic motion blur of a captured stride. Supported by the precise beauty work of hair and makeup artist Kathinka Gernant, models Ilya Vermeulen and Katherine Vinten animate these fantastical creations with an understated, neutral presence. The result is a layered, highly textural study in modern luxury that successfully bridges the gap between commercial editorialism and experimental film, leaning into a distinctive, raw visual language that feels entirely contemporary yet archival in its deliberate, grainy aesthetic.
