Atmos Magazine presents MICRO / MACRO, an editorial feature exploring themes of cosmic scale and observation. The project juxtaposes technical terrestrial equipment with expansive celestial imagery, bridging the gap between scientific inquiry and astronomical photography. The feature centers on a documentary-style photograph by Michael Hauptman, which captures a telescope in a night landscape, utilizing long exposure techniques to highlight the contrast between artificial illumination and the surrounding darkness. This visual narrative is complemented by deep-space astrophotography, placing the reader within the vastness of a nebula. Employing an aesthetic that is moody and cinematic, the feature integrates analogue film textures with high-contrast composition to anchor its editorial storytelling.
