Modern Goth is a fashion editorial series produced for Annabelle Magazine, captured by photographer Mattia Parodi. Set against the stark, rippled landscape of desert sand dunes, the project explores the interplay between structured, dark silhouettes and the raw, earthy environment. The imagery makes frequent use of analogue film techniques and high-contrast monochrome palettes to emphasize sharp textures and architectural garment shapes. Fashion direction by Nathalie de Geyter defines the moody, minimalist aesthetic, featuring layers of black leather, intricate mesh, and dramatic ruffles worn by model Isabel Monsees. Throughout the series, natural light acts as a primary tool, casting long shadows that ground the subjects within the arid terrain. Makeup by Daniela Koller provides a clean, understated finish that aligns with the atmospheric, raw tone of the photography.
