American Vogue
Dandyism

May 2025
For the Dandyism project, American Vogue explores the intersection of classic sartorial history and contemporary identity. Captured by photographer Tyler Mitchell, the editorial series leans into the aesthetics of the dandy through meticulous tailoring, structured silhouettes, and rich textile textures. Creative direction by Raul Martinez and fashion editing by Law Roach ground the work in a cohesive, curated visual language. The series features a broad cast of actors, athletes, and cultural figures, including Spike Lee and Dapper Dan, staged within interior environments that blend rustic wood elements with minimalist studio backdrops. The compositions employ clean framing and soft natural light, accented by vintage-inspired props and patterned garments. Through a blend of editorial portraiture and careful art direction, the project highlights the evolution of formal dress with a deliberate, rhythmic use of earthy and pastel tones.
