Phil Buckingham

Bio

Phil Buckingham has had a passion for fashion and design from an early age, beginning his career as a pattern cutter in his British Chinese family home in the Yorkshire Dales. His academic journey took him to Middlesex University in London, and over 20 years, he has worked as an art director for various commercial and editorial clients across fashion, music, film, and design on a global scale. Phil is celebrated for his collaborative approach, fostering strong relationships with clients and peers alike. He is recognized for his ability to create authentic and compelling imagery and is committed to promoting diverse artistic voices in his work. He has held prominent art director roles at esteemed publications such as Dazed & Confused, Arena Homme+, Elle, and British Vogue, and currently serves as the Art Director for Porter Magazine. Outside of work, Phil lives by the sea with his partner and two children, enjoying life by the water and regularly playing tennis.
