Bio

New Zealand-born, Melbourne based Kat Chadwick creates illustrations that make her heart sing, with a trademark hand-drawn inky line and solid colour. Kat’s skills are applied to wildly differing briefs, recently creating a series of isometric maps for the Greater Melbourne Cemetery Trust, which required her to map burial sites, crematoriums and elaborate mausoleums, and creating ‘ugly’ produce characters for the IMA Project cafe. IMA produces delicious Japanese meals from imperfect produce, so Kat’s ‘Saggy Tits Lemon’ and her friends now adorn IMA’s windows, coffee cups and menus. Kat has worked with the National Gallery of Victoria, Bloomsbury Press, Penguin Books, InsideOut, Toyota, The Age, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Royal Melbourne Children’s Hospital, Guide Dogs Victoria, to name but a few.
