James Dean, born in 1972, grew up in Joliet, IL. He pursued studies in graphic design, later switching to studio art with a focus on sculpture and installation, earning his degree in 1995. Moving to Los Angeles in 2000, he ventured into art direction and set design, amassing a diverse clientele including major publications and brands like Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Nike. Collaborating with renowned photographers, Dean integrates a fine arts approach to his set design and still life projects. He continues to work from his studio in Venice Beach, maintaining both his artistic practice and set design career.
