Billy Kidd, born in 1980 in Panama City, Florida, is an acclaimed photographer whose artistic journey is deeply intertwined with the landscapes of the American Southwest. After traversing the country, he settled in Arizona, where the unique interplay of desert light and color profoundly influenced his visual aesthetic. As a self-taught artist, Kidd drew inspiration from legendary photographers such as Man Ray, André Kertész, Jacques-André Boiffard, Weegee, and Helen Levitt, with a particularly strong influence from the iconic Irving Penn. In 2009, Kidd relocated to New York, where he began to hone his craft in daylight portraiture. This discipline allowed him to cultivate a distinctive approach to directing models, creating an environment where they could express their authentic selves. Kidd's portfolio has flourished through collaborations with prestigious clients, including Marc Jacobs, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dom Pérignon, Theory, Rag & Bone, Nike, Barneys, ERES, and Mr. Porter.
