Rose Marie Cromwell, Photographer, Miami

About

This still-life photograph by Rose Marie Cromwell features a hand holding a rectangular block covered in rough, textured material resembling concrete or stone. Resting on the textured surface is a crumpled translucent plastic bag containing several small yellow fruits, with additional yellow fruits scattered nearby. Hard, directional sunlight casts sharp shadows across the scene, highlighting the varied tactile surfaces of the block, plastic, and fruit. The background consists of a plain light-colored wall and dark ground shadows. The composition is captured from a high angle, emphasizing the sculptural quality of the held object.
