Description

This studio photograph by Dwight Eschliman features a small section of a tree branch positioned centrally against a solid black background. The piece shows pale grey bark with several small pruned stubs and two distinct light brown circular cut faces revealing the wood grain. The lighting is crisp and even, highlighting the natural textures of the bark and the concentric rings of the cut wood. The composition uses negative space effectively to isolate the organic subject.
