Description

Captured from a low angle looking straight up, this night scene features four individuals surrounding a single illuminated paper lantern floating against a dark sky. The warm internal flame of the lantern casts a golden glow onto the hands and garments of the people holding it from multiple directions. The deep twilight sky forms a dark backdrop framing the composition from a worm-eye perspective. Photographed by Mathieu Young in New York, the image emphasizes strong upward perspective lines and the contrasting warmth of fire against cool evening tones.
