Gabriela Cobar, Set Designer, Los Angeles

Description

A young Black man wearing athletic shorts and sunglasses reclines casually in a colorful striped deck chair set amidst a whimsical, surreal garden environment. The set design features oversized red and white toadstools, spherical topiary shrubs wrapped in ribbons, pink flamingo lawn ornaments, and a vibrant green basketball suspended in mid-air. A pair of white sneakers rests on the lush grass beneath the chair while a miniature basketball hoop stands nearby. The scene is crafted with saturated colors, natural lighting, and playful, oversized props arranged meticulously across the grassy lawn.
