Modern Weekly China Encountering an Ancient Village 2026

Description

This editorial photograph for Modern Weekly China captures a model lying horizontally across an ornately carved vintage wooden sofa. The subject wears a striking red and black patterned dress, resting against a dark interior wall. A dramatic shaft of light cuts across the corner of the room, illuminating part of the upper wall and casting soft shadows over the setting. The composition emphasizes low-key lighting and rich textures in both the wooden furnishings and the patterned textile of the garment. Photographed by Ye Fei as part of the Encountering an Ancient Village project.
