About

This striking black and white portrait captures an ecstatic Black female athlete, identified as Athing Mu, raising her arms triumphantly to hold the American flag behind her head. She wears an athletic crop top bearing a race bib with the letters MU, her face turned upward in a joyful shout with eyes closed. Captured by photographer and director Coty Tarr, the image is presented in a horizontal orientation against a plain studio background, utilizing high-contrast lighting to accentuate the dynamic expression and athletic form.
