W Magazine China showcases "The Artisan Issue" for 2024, featuring portraits of model Liu Wen and actor Tilda Swinton. This editorial project frames its subjects through distinct aesthetic approaches, alternating between minimalist studio environments and ornate, antique-filled workshops. The series features photography by Louise & Maria Thornfeldt and Nikolai von Bismarck. The imagery employs clean, bright studio lighting for high-fashion portraits, while utilizing desaturated tones and warm, atmospheric lighting to highlight the intricate details of the featured subjects within artisan-focused interiors. Fashion direction was provided by Jerry Stafford, Jessica Jiang, and Louise Ford, with hair styling by Joseph Pujalte and Odile Gilbert and makeup by Celine Martin and Stéphane Marais. Manicure services were handled by Anais Cordevant and Virginie Mataja, with set design by Christian Feltham and choreography by Eric Christison.
