Mater(i)a Scultorea is a fashion editorial series for Vogue Italia, exploring the intersection of avant-garde silhouettes and the historic, weathered landscapes of Matera. Photographed by Andrew Jacobs with fashion styling by Luca Galasso, the project leans into a dialogue between contemporary wearable art and classical architectural forms. The imagery features models Caitlin Soetendal and Penelope Ternes positioned within ancient stone colonnades and arid hillsides, utilizing the interplay of light and shadow to highlight complex garment textures. The aesthetic is defined by an earthy, warm palette and the use of natural light, which emphasizes the sculptural qualities of voluminous knitwear, pleated ensembles, and intricate headpieces. Casting by Ignacio Murillo, alongside hair by Dre Demry Sanders and makeup by Michaela Bosch, grounds the high-fashion experimentation in a polished, contemplative tone.
