Mater(i)a Scultorea is a fashion editorial series for Vogue Italia that explores the interplay between avant-garde silhouettes and the historic architecture of Matera. Photographed by Andrew Jacobs, the project places sculptural garments—defined by voluminous ruffles, padded hoods, and rigid circular structures—against the raw, weathered textures of ancient limestone and rocky landscapes. Stylist Luca Galasso anchors the visual narrative in organic, earthy tones, pairing ornate knitwear and sheer lace with dramatic accessories to bridge the gap between contemporary wearable art and classical ruins. The series captures a contemplative mood through the use of natural golden hour light and warm, desaturated palettes, emphasizing the tactile relationship between the models and their historic surroundings. The editorial features casting by Ignacio Murillo and on-camera performances by models Caitlin Soetendal and Penelope Ternes, with beauty direction by hair stylist Dre Demry Sanders and makeup artist Michaela Bosch.
