Solace of the Wild is a fashion editorial series produced for Vogue Hong Kong, capturing a juxtaposition of structured tailoring and raw, expansive landscapes. The project moves between high-contrast monochrome studio portraits and evocative outdoor compositions set against rolling highland terrain. Photographer Daniel Benson employs natural light to emphasize the varied fabric textures, from delicate silk and lace to heavy wool and fur. The editorial features model Esme Cornelius throughout, with fashion styling by Thea Lewis-Yates and hair and makeup by Emil Zed. Utilizing techniques such as analogue film and soft-focus motion blur, the work maintains an atmospheric, earthy aesthetic that bridges the gap between refined indoor portraiture and rugged, rural scenery. Casting for the project was provided by Marina Fairfax.
