Vogue Australia: Face Forward

Face Forward, a fashion editorial series for Vogue Australia, presents a study in contrast and silhouette. Featuring talent Tarlisa Gaykamangu, the imagery employs a clean, minimalist studio aesthetic to elevate the detailed craftsmanship of designer garments ranging from structured leather ensembles to layered knits and botanical-print textiles. The portraits lean into desaturated, neutral backgrounds, allowing soft, directional lighting to accentuate the varied textures of glossy patent, satin, and knitwear. Photographed by Robbie Fimmano and Justin Woo, the project highlights architectural forms through a series of poised, vertical compositions. The editorial process integrates precise fashion styling by Petta Chua, with grooming contributions from hairstylist Daren Borthwick and make-up artist Stoj. Set design by Mariska Lowri provides an understated, sculptural foundation throughout the series, creating a polished, contemporary look.
