The Balykina “escaping the party” editorial project explores a blend of high-fashion structure and raw, kinetic energy. Set against contrasting environments ranging from nocturnal water scenes to monumental stone architecture, the series documents a series of looks styled by Anastasiia Yatsenko. Photographer Serhii Vasyliev captures these garments—spanning from sequined gowns to structured corset sets—through a lens that shifts between clean, flash-lit portraiture and moody, desaturated landscapes. The project channels the aesthetic of nightlife documentation, utilising high-speed freeze techniques alongside long exposure and motion blur to define its visual narrative. With model Vika Ihnatenko at the centre of these compositions, the work leans into the textures of the apparel and the surrounding stone settings. The result is a collection of images that bridges classic fashion photography with a gritty, candid sensibility.
