Toothsome Issue 2

Mar 2026
Toothsome Issue 2 is a striking exploration of form and decay within the CPG and food and beverage industry, elevating produce photography into the realm of fine art. Through a series of editorial compositions, photographer Vivek Vadoliya captures the raw, organic geometry of dehydrated ingredients, transforming mundane fruits and vegetables into sculptural objects. The project leans into editorial minimalism, utilizing a carefully curated palette of matte surfaces—from periwinkle blue to muted olive green—to provide a stark, graphic backdrop for his subjects. Working in close collaboration with set designer Gemma Tickle, the imagery achieves a precise balance between naturalistic texture and high-concept staging. Whether employing studio strobe lighting to emphasize the sharp, dramatic shadows of a shriveled bell pepper or utilizing soft natural light to highlight the delicate, porous surfaces of organic specimens, the work feels both clinical and evocative. By focusing on macro perspectives and the interplay of contrasting colors, the project captures the inherent beauty in aging produce. The resulting collection serves as a sophisticated study of light and form, pushing the boundaries of traditional commercial still life while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic that speaks to the intersection of food, art, and professional editorial production.
