The Figure of the Shaman in Contemporary Cultural Anthropology is a conceptual fashion editorial series produced for RED EYE World. The project explores the intersection of ritualistic symbolism and modern identity through a series of sculptural portraits, grounding anthropological themes in highly tactile studio compositions. Photographer Alberto Pelayo and fashion editor and stylist Veronica Bergamini collaborate to build an aesthetic that blends avant-garde construction with organic elements. The imagery employs a range of techniques, from high-contrast monochrome and chiaroscuro lighting to the use of analogue film, to emphasize texture and silhouette. Models are adorned in materials ranging from driftwood, straw, and autumn leaves to metallic foils and protective sporting gear, creating a visual dialogue between natural forms and digital-age anthropology. Production coordination was managed by Mira Postolache.
