Description

FUNCTION is an editorial project captured by photographer Amber Pinkerton, featuring musician Cktrl alongside various subjects. The series leans into a candid, documentary-style approach, utilizing analogue film and grain to anchor the narrative in a raw, cinematic aesthetic. The imagery captures a range of environments from quiet, sunlit interiors to high-contrast nightlife scenes. Across the set, the work prioritizes intimate portraiture, often employing natural light or direct flash to highlight graphic textures and tonal transitions within a monochrome palette. By weaving together atmospheric vignettes and group compositions, the project functions as a study of personality and environment.
