Facet Value

In Facet Value, a sophisticated jewellery fashion campaign for Vanity Fair UK, the visual narrative strips away the noise to prioritize the interplay between light, skin, and precious metal. Through a series of tight, editorial portrait shots, photographer Catharina Pavitschitz captures a collection defined by its versatility, utilizing a high-key studio strobe technique to illuminate the intricate textures of layered gold chains, diamond-encrusted bangles, and delicate stacking rings. The project leans into a minimalist aesthetic, where the stark white backdrop forces an intimate engagement with the accessories, allowing the craftsmanship of the jewellery to take center stage against the model’s expressive, neutral to playful poses. Fashion editor and stylist Joanne M Kennedy curates a wardrobe of sheer black tops and vibrant orange accents that provide a necessary tonal anchor, preventing the high-fashion compositions from feeling clinical. Makeup artist Michelle Dacillo complements this balance with bold, saturated lip colors that ground the imagery, while manicurist Chisato Yamamoto ensures the hands—central to the storytelling of the stacked rings—remain polished and intentional. By focusing on the convergence of refined luxury and human texture, this campaign succeeds in elevating essential jewellery pieces into the realm of modern editorial storytelling, creating a clean, professional finish that feels both contemporary and timeless for the Vanity Fair reader.
