U SELECTION is a fashion editorial series for U Repubblica that traverses urban, industrial, and studio settings. The imagery channels a modern, utilitarian aesthetic through precise colour-blocking and layered cold-weather garments, ranging from heavy leather coats and wool textures to contemporary workwear staples. Photographer Joseph Echenique and fashion stylist Matteo Maggini anchor the work in a clean, observational style that highlights the structural details of the clothing. Featuring model Roman Lenoir, the project utilizes a mix of natural light and high-contrast monochrome to define its visual tone. By transitioning between gritty architectural backdrops—such as brutalist concrete and industrial storage yards—and controlled studio environments, the series captures a grounded, candid perspective on high-street fashion.
