U Repubblica
The Fixer

Jul 2026
In The Fixer, U Repubblica crafts a narrative-driven luxury fashion campaign that feels less like a lookbook and more like a sequence from a neo-noir film. Through the lens of photographer Robbie Lawrence and under the creative direction of Ben Kelway, the project leans into a cinematic aesthetic that transforms the urban environment into a stage for modern sartorial expression. Model Clement Chabernaud anchors the series, portraying a stoic protagonist whose journey is punctuated by dramatic shifts in lighting and texture. The editorial work expertly utilizes natural light to capture the interplay between shadow and color, from the golden hour warmth of a wire-mesh fence backdrop to the intense, low-key chiaroscuro of a neon-drenched bar. Fashion director Giovanni Dario Laudicina and stylist Pau Avia meticulously curate a wardrobe that emphasizes rich, reflective materials, such as glossy vinyl and satin, which are brought to life through sharp contrast and shallow depth of field. With hair by Paolo Soffiatti and makeup by Mary Cesardi, the portraits maintain an understated intensity, reinforcing a moody, narrative-heavy atmosphere. Casting director Piergiorgio Del Moro provides the final touch, ensuring the visual storytelling remains cohesive across varied, gritty urban settings. This project succeeds by grounding high-end fashion in a grounded, live-action technique, proving that the most compelling luxury narratives are those that prioritize mood and character above all else.
