Title Magazine
Liminal

Aug 2026
In the latest editorial series Liminal, Title Magazine explores the intersections of texture and form, distilling the essence of modern beauty into a sequence of hyper-focused portraits. Captured by photographer Tobias Kruse, the project leans into a rigorous aesthetic of editorial minimalism, where the human face is treated as a landscape of light and shadow. By isolating subjects against stark, clean white backdrops, the work demands an immediate, visceral connection between the viewer and the subject. Every image utilizes deliberate beauty light to amplify a consistent, dewy, high-gloss finish on the skin, which is punctuated by the intentional use of saturated berry-toned lip pigments. The series prioritizes the tactile qualities of the wet-look, slicked-back hair and the raw, natural textures of the skin over elaborate styling, creating a cohesive visual language that feels both polished and raw. Model Kisha Hahn and other participants embody this contemplative mood, offering neutral, direct gazes that anchor the frame and heighten the cinematic tension within each composition. Through this restrained approach, Liminal succeeds as a masterclass in beauty photography, proving that when the extraneous is stripped away, the nuances of bone structure and luminosity become the most powerful components of the visual narrative, ultimately redefining the boundaries of contemporary commercial beauty portraiture.
