French Magazine: THROWING SHAPES
Oct 2026
THROWN SHAPES is a high-contrast fashion editorial for French Magazine that explores sculptural silhouettes and sharp, graphic composition. Centered on model Ajah Angau Jok, the series utilizes rigorous studio lighting to manipulate shadows against seamless backgrounds, emphasizing the interplay between bold textile textures and architectural tailoring. The visual language leans into a refined, retro-modern aesthetic, defined by its minimalist staging and striking vertical coiffures. Photographer Mikael Schulz directs the series with a focus on high-contrast monochrome and clean, clinical framing. The production is unified by the fashion styling of Marcell Rocha, which balances avant-garde forms with precise sartorial layering. The project features hair styling by Nastya Miliaeva, makeup by Christyna Kay, and casting by Paul Brickman.
