About

Nylon China’s The Threshold of Imbalance is a fashion editorial series that explores surrealist narratives and sculptural silhouettes through the lens of photographer Rambo Ding. The project leans into minimalist studio setups, utilizing solid monochromatic backdrops to emphasize the avant-garde styling and clean, graphic lines of each ensemble. Executed with a focus on high-contrast forms, the work incorporates diverse elements—from geometric props and layered textures to playful, weighted objects balanced on the subjects. The series maintains a consistent artistic polish, using soft, even studio lighting to highlight both the material quality of the garments and the dynamic, sometimes gravity-defying, poses of the models.
