About

The Earth Motif represents the third edition of The Motif Magazine, a publication leaning into minimalist editorial design. Captured by photographer Hordur Ingason with creative direction from Jakob de Tobon, the series features a monochrome palette and clean compositional framing that balances portraiture with botanical macro studies. The layout integrates minimalist typography, including the phrases 'To Mother Earth' and 'Homie, I love you,' within generous white negative space. The editorial work draws on an analogue film aesthetic, emphasizing high-contrast tones and soft lighting across various studio-shot profiles and floral still lifes. Fashion styling by Dimphy den Otter, with hair by Magdalena Loza and makeup by Suzanne Verberk, complements the sculptural apparel worn by models including Anna de Rijk, Bess Van Noord, Farah Nieuwburg, Farhiya Shire, Marte Mei van Haaster, and Roe Elema.
