For this fashion editorial in Elle U.S., titled 'Sculpture Garden,' photographer Sarah van Rij explores the intersection of architectural silhouettes and arid landscapes. The series frames models Caren Jepkemei and Ning Jinyi within expansive desert terrains and salt flats, utilizing high-contrast natural light to emphasize the structural forms of avant-garde garments. Fashion editor Dimphy den Otter curates a selection of sculptural pieces, ranging from voluminous black gowns to hooded ensembles, which play against the raw, graphic geography of the setting. The editorial leans into a cinematic aesthetic, featuring both colour-rich compositions and monochrome analogue film photography that underscores the tactile qualities of the apparel. Creative production was supported by hair stylist Tiago Goya and makeup artist Homa Safar, with casting direction by Clare Rhodes.
