The Manual Review
The Ski Edit

Dec 2025
The Ski Edit for The Manual Review is a fashion editorial series that explores the intersection of alpine performance wear and high-fashion aesthetics. Shot by photographer Rosie Harriet Ellis, the project translates rugged mountain-ready gear into a series of minimalist, studio-based compositions. The imagery emphasizes clean lines, tactile textile textures, and futuristic sport-specific silhouettes, ranging from sculpted helmets and technical fleece to patterned knitwear and mountaineering hardware. Under the creative direction of Juan Duque and Nima Habibzadeh, the project leverages a neutral, high-key palette to isolate the sculptural qualities of winter apparel. Styling by Suzannah Snow integrates functional elements—such as snow goggles and insulated boots—with layered knit garments and jewelry. The production features set design by Harry Stayt, which utilizes glossy, reflective surfaces to enhance the polished, editorial feel of the ensemble.
