SSAW Magazine

Spring Summer 26
Date

Apr 2026

Description

For their Spring Summer 26 issue, SSAW Magazine delivers a masterclass in tactile storytelling and sartorial composition. Through an expansive series of editorial spreads, the project celebrates the season with a vibrant, eclectic visual language that leans into high-contrast layering and graphic play. Photographer Sarah Blais captures a narrative of motion and structure, moving seamlessly between intimate, high-angle portraits and dynamic, full-body movement. Working closely with fashion editor Javier De Pardo, the team creates a sensory experience that prioritizes the juxtaposition of textures; one finds themselves drawn to the friction between rough, shaggy knits, sheer floral hosiery, and the polished, matte finish of structured accessories. The aesthetic is anchored by a sophisticated approach to natural light, though punctuated effectively by crisp studio flash, which sharpens the silhouette of oversized leopard-print coats and geometric plaid patterns. With casting by Mollie Dendle and grounded performances from models Hanna Leszek and Sasha Krivko, the imagery channels an editorial minimalism that feels both playful and meticulously curated. Enhanced by the precise grooming of hair stylist Yuji Okuda and makeup artist Lauren Aiello, the work remains deeply rooted in 35mm film sensibilities and editorial minimalism. Ultimately, the series acts as a vibrant exploration of pattern-mixing and materiality, defining the mood for the season through a lens that is as thoughtful as it is visually arresting.
