In this commercial spot for Spectrum, titled Monsters "Train," the mundane experience of a daily commute is subverted by a cast of classic cinematic monsters. The film features a mummy, a werewolf, a mad scientist, and the grim reaper engaged in casual conversation about their daily struggles while seated alongside regular passengers on a modern train. Produced by O Positive with creative direction from agency Something Different, the spot leans into a live-action technique to ground fantastical creature makeup and elaborate costumes within a hyper-realistic setting. The production contrasts a bright, clean lighting scheme within the passenger carriage against the rain-swept windows outside, utilizing a humorous tone to juxtapose supernatural characters with contemporary travel. Sound design and music composition for the project were handled by JSM Music.
