Seventeen Magazine’s November 2025 issue features musician Sombr in a multi-part cover editorial photographed by Ian O’Hara. The series leans into a moody, high-contrast aesthetic, utilizing saturated gel lighting in magenta, crimson, and violet to frame the subject across various studio environments. Fashion direction by Brandon Tan focuses on structured tailoring, integrating textured leathers, ornate metallic hardware, and unexpected props like knight gauntlets and floral stems to build an atmospheric, editorial look. Techniques including prismatic optical refraction, long exposure motion trails, and double-exposure effects are used throughout the shoot to introduce soft, layered dimensions to the portraits. With creative leadership from editor-in-chief Willa Bennett, the project combines classical high-fashion silhouettes with experimental lighting to define the cover story.
