Self Service
Photograohy Camille Vivier

Mar 2026
In this evocative series for Self Service, photographer Camille Vivier masterfully bridges the gap between austere minimalism and avant-garde luxury fashion. Working closely with fashion editor Camille Bidault Waddington, Vivier constructs a visual language defined by a distinct high-fashion editorial aesthetic, where the interplay of form, texture, and light becomes the central narrative. The project leans into a low-key chiaroscuro approach, utilizing dramatic shadows and sharp studio strobe lighting to emphasize the structural integrity of both the garments and the human form. From the tactical precision of braided military-inspired jackets to the raw, tactile juxtaposition of equestrian hardware against vibrant, matte red backdrops, every frame feels deliberate and cinematic. With casting by Julia Lange and featuring the striking presence of models like Coco Palmer, Echo Zhao, and Pauline Schubach, the portraiture maintains a consistent tension between neutral, stoic expressions and dynamic, conceptual posing. Supported by the textural nuance provided by hair stylist Ramona Eschbach, makeup artist Porsche Poon, and set designer Emilia Margulies, the collection succeeds as a study in modern editorial minimalism. Through these images, Vivier proves that the most compelling fashion storytelling relies not on clutter, but on the careful alignment of geometry, bold color, and the disciplined control of natural light to reveal a sophisticated, enigmatic mood.
