HARD NEWS is a fashion editorial series for Revista 192 that explores the visual language of broadcast journalism through a high-fashion lens. Captured by photographer Izack Morales, the project juxtaposes the raw, utilitarian aesthetic of vintage shoulder-mounted camcorders and news-van iconography with elevated, monochrome styling. Fashion editor Kingsley Osuji curates an all-black wardrobe that spans sheer lace gowns, structured tweed jackets, and sharp tailored blazers, creating a stark contrast against neoclassical limestone architecture. These images lean into an analogue, film-based aesthetic, utilizing natural light and hard shadows to emphasize the interplay between the gritty, street-level subjects and their polished, editorial posture. With casting by Eleonor Delecluse and makeup by Michael Chua, the series channel a distinct, retro-inspired energy through its clean, cinematic compositions.
