Puppets and Puppets
Spring 2025 Ad Campaign

Nov 2024
For the Puppets and Puppets Spring 2025 ad campaign, creative director Carly Mark leans into a surrealist, minimalist tension that deftly bridges the gap between high-end commercial polish and raw, offbeat artistry. Photographed by Luca Khouri, the campaign utilizes a stark, industrial palette defined by concrete floors and austere white walls, creating a clean, deliberate backdrop that allows the collection’s structural accessories to take center stage. The imagery channels a distinct editorial aesthetic, alternating between high-key, bright lighting and moody low-key chiaroscuro techniques to heighten the interplay of textures. With styling by Taylor Thoroski, the campaign pushes against traditional luxury tropes, instead incorporating art-historical references like the Mona Lisa and Girl with a Pearl Earring alongside gritty, tactile details. These intentional juxtapositions—such as sleek leather shoulder bags paired with floor-bound prints or bare, darkened feet—anchor the work in a contemporary, avant-garde space. By stripping away the noise of a traditional fashion shoot, the project achieves a rare, evocative stillness. Whether highlighting the reflective sheen of metallic hardware or the soft, directional light across a subject's form, the resulting visuals feel both curated and unsettlingly candid, cementing the brand’s reputation for merging intellectual curiosity with wearable design in this striking, portfolio-defining editorial series.
