Pull Letter Magazine
The Black Swan

Jun 2026
In The Black Swan, Pull Letter Magazine embraces a hauntingly austere vision of modern fashion, transposing high-end accessories and structured tailoring into the unforgiving, craggy expanse of a high-altitude wilderness. Through the lens of photographer Francesco Saverio Costanzo, the project serves as an evocative fashion editorial that leans into a cinematic, surrealist aesthetic, stripping away human identity to emphasize pure silhouette and texture. Figures shrouded in monochromatic, face-concealing attire become architectural elements, their sharp forms cutting against the muted, desaturated backdrop of loose shale and volcanic earth. Under the guidance of fashion director and stylist Giulia Parenti, the execution masterfully juxtaposes polished, high-fashion pieces against the raw, indifferent elements of the landscape. The use of natural light and diffused, overcast conditions enhances the high-contrast drama, turning everyday accessories like leather handbags and pointed heels into artifacts of a mysterious, otherworldly ascent. The imagery captures a stark tension between the refined human construct and the primal, gritty terrain, utilizing intentional anonymity to invite deeper focus on the interplay of volume, structure, and atmospheric depth. This collaboration between Costanzo and Parenti results in a visual narrative that feels less like a traditional commercial campaign and more like a cinematic study in form, proving that the most compelling fashion stories are often found where the familiar meets the completely alien.
