Port Magazine
GUCCI special

May 2026
Port Magazine turns its lens toward the heritage and contemporary evolution of the Italian house in this GUCCI special, a high-fashion editorial campaign that expertly navigates the intersection of urban grit and luxury refinement. Through the collaborative vision of photographer Lola Banet and fashion editor Roberto Piu, the project strips away the noise of high-gloss advertising, opting instead for a restrained, documentary-style approach. By leaning into natural light and a muted, cool-toned color palette, the team captures a series of portraits and lifestyle vignettes that feel both spontaneous and meticulously curated. The imagery highlights the tactile depth of Gucci’s iconic textures—from suede and monogram canvas to high-gloss leather and crocodile-embossed accents—against stark, minimalist architectural backdrops. With hair styling by Hiro Furukawa and precision casting by Ernest Rudzki, models Farida Ebene and Thomas LeMaigre anchor the narrative, embodying a quiet, modern confidence that eschews traditional flash. Whether suspended from an urban traffic pole or framed by the cool reflection of a transit barrier, the accessories are treated as sculptural elements rather than mere products. Ultimately, this editorial series reads as a masterclass in balance, demonstrating how a heritage brand can maintain its iconic status while inhabiting the raw, unpolished corners of the modern cityscape through intentional, atmospheric composition.
