The Gentlewoman
Peeling

Sep 2026
For their Peeling project, The Gentlewoman explores the tactile nature of removal through a series of intimate editorial studies. The collection examines textures across disparate materials, ranging from organic elements and reflective ceramics to industrial surfaces and personal technology. Photographer Rebekka Deubner and set designer Lune Kuipers define the series through a minimalist lens, utilizing clean framing and consistent, natural light. The imagery leans into the visual rhythm of peeling and uncovering, with each frame anchored by deliberate, controlled tactile interactions. Techniques such as analogue film and clean, raw composition highlight the materiality of the subjects. The work maintains a cohesive aesthetic, focusing on the interplay between form, shadow, and surface.
